Called Meeting

The Hart County Board of Commissioners had a called meeting April 29, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hart County Administrative & Emergency Services Center.

 

Chairman Joel Moore presided with Commissioners Ken Brown, Don Burdick and R C Oglesby in attendance. Commissioner Harry Hannah was absent.

 

Chairman Moore called the meeting to order and stated the primary reason for the called meeting is to discuss road grading bids for the following roads:

            Speedway Road, St Johns CME Church Road, Kings Bench Lane

            George Burns Lane, Pinkston Drive, Holmes Road, Bear Creek Road

            Redwine Church Road (unpaved portion)

 

Public Works Director Rick Haney reviewed the two road grading bids that were submitted and read at the April 27, 1999 meeting.

 

Mr. Haney reported the totals for the road grading bids are as follows for 7.499 miles for first time paving:

                        Billy Ethridge Backhoe         $150,456.84

                        Teasley  Grading                        70,490.00

 

Chairman Moore stated all right-of-way deeds have not been acquired on Speedway Road and St John CME Church Road however, everyone has verbally agreed to sign the right-of-way.

 

Commissioner Oglesby suggested grading begin on the roads that all right-of-ways have been acquired.

 

Commissioner Burdick entered a motion to accept Teasley Grading bid of $70,490 for the following roads. Chairman Moore provided a second to the motion. The motion carried unanimously.

 

Chairman Moore entered a motion to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Brown provided a second to the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
