Planning Session – Executive Session

December 13th, 1999

 

Chairman Moore convened the Executive Session from the regular session (see affidavit) at 4:40 p.m. Those present were Commissioners Burdick, Hannah and Oglesby. Also present were the County Administrator, County Attorney, Public Works Director, Jack Edmunds and Bob Evans.

 

Mr. Edmunds reported further discussion with the White’s who own 4 tracts of property near the Exit 59 I85 Interchange. Mr. White was receptive to an option on the 149-acre tract but wished to reserve about 20 acres where Dad’s Restaurant is located. Motion by Commissioner Burdick to direct the County Attorney to prepare and have presented to the White’s an option to purchase the said property per the following conditions. Commissioner Hannah provided a second to the motion. The motion carried unanimously.

 

1.                  Term of option – 6 months

2.                  Option - Price of property - $10,000 per acre

3.                  Amount of property – up to 130 acres

4.                  Cost of Option – up to $7,500 per acre (credited against future purchase)

 

Vote was 4-0 in favor of the motion. Mr. Gordon then discussed briefly several lawsuits facing the county. Executive Session adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
