New Business

1. Authorize County Administrator & Public Works Director to advertise bids for a new highway-paving machine. Bids to be received no later than 4:00 p.m. November 9, 1999. Bid opening November 9, 1999 meeting.

2. Authorize the County Administrator & Public Works Director to advertise for bids for the paving of: Lakeview Road, Winding Way & Baker’s Bridge Road. Bids to be received no later than 4:00 p.m. November 9, 1999. Bid opening November 9, 1999 meeting.

3. Motion to declare the following county equipment surplus:

A) IBM 5362 System 36 computer

B) IBM CPU

C) IBM modem

D) IBM monitors (4)

E) IBM tape backup

F) Compudyne Personal computer

G) Compaq Personal computer

H) IBM 9402Y computer

4. Motion to commit to one-half of the required local match to the Hartwell Downtown Development Authority Phase I grant of $900,000. Commitment is not to exceed $112,500. First payment would be for one-half of the Phase I engineering design cost due in January 2000. Two additional payments to be made one in January 2001 and the final payment in January 2002. Funding of the commitment to be from the Economic Development Investment fund.
