Hart County Board
of Commissioners
August 16th,
2000
Work Session
Chairman Moore called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Those present were: All Board of
Commissioner members, County Administrator Gary S. Cobb, Public Works Director
Rick Haney, Bill Habel, Roads Superintendent Ronnie Dickerson, and Margerite
(Anderson Independent reporter).
Discussion resumed on the Staff
Proposal that was presented on August

alternatives, it was decided to contract for the Kings Bench and Ridge Road
Projects and to do the Memorial Bridge
paving in-house. We would proceed with the FY2000 Grading Contract.
Complementing this plan, a motion was made by Chairman Moore, second by
Commissioner Hannah not to consider any further Road Projects until a future
date to be decided by the BOC. Motion passed 5-0.
The roads budget was discussed
next. It was agreed to move the purchase of a small pickup from next years
budget to this year’s budget because capital funds were underspent.
At approximately 11:15 a.m., the meeting took up the topic of
the proposed video game ordinance. Several people
joined the meeting including Walter Gordon,
Arch Adams, Kevin Heaton, Roy Roygogel, Joe Winchester, Troy Worthey and Herb
Holman. Commissioner Hannah had to leave due to a previous appointment.
The chairman stated we would
review the ordinance (Revision #9) paragraph by paragraph. This was
accomplished and the meeting adjourned at approximately 2:00 p.m.
