The Hart County Board of Commissioners met December 30th, 2002 at 5:00 p.m. in the Hart County Administrative & Emergency Services Center.
Chairman Joey Dorsey presided with Commissioners Randy Banister and Ken Brown in attendance. Commissioners R. C. Oglesby and Don Burdick absent.
Commissioner Dorsey called the meeting to order and welcomed those in attendance.
a. Subdivision Plat Variance-Michael Rider
Commissioner Brown entered a motion to remove the item from the table for discussion. Commissioner Banister provided a second to the motion. The motion carried 3-0.
Chairman Dorsey entered a motion to accept the subdivision plat variance request. Commissioner Banister provided a second to the motion. The motion carried 3-0.
Paul Roosenburg asked if the new assessor board members have been sworn in and if they are aware of the training requirements. Chairman Dorsey reported that Ms. Thompson and Mr. Phillips were sworn in today and they are aware of the certification requirements.
a. Personnel
Commissioner Banister entered a motion to exit into Executive Session to discuss personnel matters as required by O.C.G.A. 50-14-2, 50-14-3 and 50-14-4(b). Commissioner Brown provided a second to the motion. The motion carried 3-0. The resolution and affidavit is recorded in the minutes book.
Those in attendance in Executive Session were Chairman Dorsey, Commissioners Banister and Brown, County Attorney Gordon and commissioner elect Reyen.
With no further action taken during Executive Session, Commisisoner Banister entered a motion to exit Executive Session and convene the regular meeting session. Commissioner Brown provided a second to the motion. The motion carried 3-0.
Chairman Dorsey entered a motion to amend the County Administrator’s Employment Agreement as follows:
1. Term changed from 1/15/03 to 1/15/05
2. Increase existing salary by 2 ˝ % effective 1/15/03
3. Increase county contribution to pension from 3% to 5% effective 1/15/03
4. Provide a 1-˝ month/year of service severance pay if discharged for no-cause. Maximum payment to be 6 months
Vote 3-0.
Commissioner Banister entered a motion to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Brown provided a second to the motion. The motion carried 3-0.
