Budget Work Session

September 14^th, 2004

The Hart County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday, September 14^th, 2004 in the Hart County Administrative & Emergency Services Center.

All commissioners were present but at various times.

The meeting began at 4:00 p.m. The Board addressed the Grand Jury's request to raise the per diem rates by $10 per person estimated to cost an additional $6,000 per year. Commissioner Oglesby and Reyen voted in favor. Commissioner Carter opposed due his concern that regular jurors should also be considered.

A discussion ensued on raising the percentage of property tax revenues from the past practice of assuming 90% collection in the first year to 95% in the first year. After some discussion the decision was made to continue the past practice of 90% collection.

At 4:30 p.m. Commissioner Dorsey entered the meeting. At 5:10 p.m. Commissioner Banister entered the meeting.
