FunctionEmergency Management is a term used to describe the steps taken by government agencies to plan, organize, and prepare for the saving of lives, protection of property, and the recovery from the effects of an emergency, disaster or catastrophe. Mission StatementGEMA is the lead state agency for coordination of emergency and disaster response activities.
